  • Responsible for executing design work as contracted by a client’s specific needs and requests and the client’s budget
  • Produce client technical drawings to support the interior design practice 
  • Provide design services to residential and commercial clients 
  • Work directly with design team to develop design solutions
  • Mentor and train students or interns in applicable 
  • Enhance and improve interior spaces functionality by modifying architectural elements and arranging furnishings, artwork and decor 




  • Assess and meets client requirements and desires through regular meetings 
  • Measured surveys of interior design projects where required 
  • Production of client sample and digital mood board to communicate design concepts 
  • Conduct on-site observations and provide recommendations to help streamline ongoing design projects
  • Assist with client presentations regarding design, propose floor-plans and timelines
  • Source, specify, quote and/or procure client materials and finishes related to interior design projects
  • Establish project timelines and coordinate work activity, and outside involvement such as contractors, as necessary. 
  • Maintain professional relationships with trades peoples and suppliers of interior design practice and client projects
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients of SAM 
  • Maintain client/supplier correspondence relating to interior design practice of SAM 
  • Track expenses related to the project and bill accordingly 
  • Keep detailed records of time expended on client projects 
  • Participate in regular networking opportunities 
  • Complete applications for permitting design projects if required 
  • Be an ambassador for “best practice development” for SAM Design interior design practice 
  • Client binder maintenance 
  • Maintain organization of sample library 




  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 - 3 years of experience in related field 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Google Sketch Up considered a strong asset
  • Strong creative and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to execute
