A Love Letter to Local Collaboration: SAM Design + Georgetown on My Mind + Hungry Heart Café by Stella’s Circle

Today at SAM my heart is filled with warmth and gratitude for the incredible collaborations that thrive within our local community.

It's the perfect moment to shine a spotlight on a collaboration that has recently started blossoming, bringing design creativity, passion, fun, and a sense of community to a beloved social enterprise in our town.

THE HUNGRY HEART CAFÉ MAKEOVER

Joining me at the heart of this volunteer makeover to share her creative energy and community spirit is Krista Wells of GOMM. Krista, the driving force behind Georgetown on My Mind, tirelessly showcases stories, talents, and the hidden gems of our community. Through her platform, she has celebrated the richness of our local culture, nurturing a profound sense of pride and connection among residents. She is also a great supporter of SAM, and a tireless advocate for many charitable organizations.

Together, Krista and I share a love of community, a passion for design and creativity, and a tireless energy to work hard for what we believe in. I am thrilled to collaborate with her.

Though we’re not ready to share yet, we have been creating a beautiful design vision (think Parisian café!) for Hungry Heart. Equally important, we hope to share the ripple effect of positivity that each of us feel when we volunteer our time and share our unique talents to enhance the unique essence of our community.

For those who do not know, the Hungry Heart Café is a social enterprise owned by Stella’s Circle, located in the heart of Georgetown. The Café stands as a beacon of community support and nourishment. Beyond serving delectable meals, Hungry Heart acts as a hub for connection and inclusivity, and in their own words, “uses training and employment as a dignified means of helping people regain their confidence, skills, and economic independence.” The aroma of freshly brewed coffee or a good cup of tea over the last 16 (now nearly 17) years has provided a comforting atmosphere and a welcoming space for all to come together.

Collectively, SAM Design, Georgetown on My Mind, and the Hungry Heart Café are cultivating a local effort that will far surpass individual efforts.

Merging design creativity, storytelling, and communal gatherings the new direction will give rise to a distinctive and vibrant experience for all fortunate enough to call this community home.
